Sydney has another festival running at the moment, Art and About, and one of the highlights will be a performance by European artist Willi Dorner.
Called Bodies in Urban Spaces it’s a show where young and very fit dancers rush from one location in the city to another cramming themselves into the oddest places and positions.
I ran into a rehearsal for their upcoming Sydney show, it looks great, if exhausting.
As described on the Art and about website.
Squeezing brightly clothed dancers into nooks and crannies, artist Willi Dorner plays with our perceptions of space. What was once a gap between two buildings now houses toylike bodies, an alcove becomes home to coloured patterns and shapes, and a doorway is transformed in a game of sardines like no other.
